Because each city has its own underground music scene, the Rap Sheet New Music Showcase will work with local promoters, retail outlets, radio and club venues to promote the showcase and generate excitement surrounding the national event.

Artists will present their talent in a public venue and the judges will vote on the best artist, who will then represent that city.

In each city, the artist selected to represent his/her area will submit a single to be included on the Rap Sheet New Artist Showcase Compilation cd, distributed at music retailers and key sites on the Internet, available for digital download.
