The Rap Sheet New Music Showcase and Compilation project is designed to discover, promote and ultimately distribute new music from emerging artists who otherwise face major obstacles in exposing their music through traditional avenues.

Rap Sheet will be presenting showcase events designed to expose developing local artists, tapping into the local urban music scene in targeted markets. That program will be used to develop compilation projects, leading into the development of the publicationís own music project.

Plus, 81 retailers (Wherehouse Entertainment, George's Music Room, Music People, Leopold's, and more) in attendance, and 90 managers/management companies (Paul Stewart--Pharcyde, Warren G, etc., Courtney Branch--DJ Quik, Second II None, etc.).

Working Towards A Unified Hip Hop Nation conducted workshops on Publicity & Promotion, Management, Publishing, Contracts, Creating a Label and Producing/Mixing. These workshops enlightened and empowered those aspiring to be in the business of rap. All workshops were moderated by top-selling rap artists and seasoned industry professionals--all specialists in their given fields.

The first in this ten city series will take place in Los Angeles in October of 2009, moving through Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis, Oakland, and Las Vegas by the end of 2009. The showcase tour will continue in 2010 and opportunities are also available via the Internet.
